KPLI June 2009 Interview (Music)

Hello peeps.

I just want to share my experience during my KPLI June 2009 Interview, who knows it might help other KPLI candidates.

Well, first thing you need to pass the MTest Exam. The questions are not hard but its tricky so try to give an honest answer. One questions that I still remember to this day is this: "Adakah anda akan ketawa jika terdengar lawak lucah?" my answer was Yes.

What to PREPARE for the interview:
1. Original certificates (prefebly in Bahasa) and its photocopies (use folder)
2. IC
3. Pasport size photo
4. Stationeries (pen, pencil, glue)
5. Information about music education, KPM and latest happenings in Malaysia
6. Music score
7. Attire (choose your attire carefully - color not to flashy, easy to the eyes)
Women - prefebly baju kurung, if none then wear something formal and not sexy.
Men - long sleeve shirt, neck tie and dark pants (no jeans)
8. H20
9. Sandwich or Packets of biscuit

On the day of the interview, try to come earlier. This is roughly what you to expect:
1. Room/Group - Find out which interview room/group.
2. Documentation - You'll be asked to fill out forms and prepare your documentation. Once completed, you need to surrender your file to the interviewer.
3. Group Interview - consists of 4 candicates and 2 interviewers. After brief introduction, these are some questions being asked
"Apakah yang anda tahu mengenai pendidikan di Malaysia di masa kini?"
"Apakah ciri-ciri guru yang cemerlang bagi anda?"
"Terangkan falsafah Pendidikan di Malaysia".
Group debate =>"Penampilan seorang guru penting. Andakah anda setuju/tidak setuju dan kenapa?".
4. Individual Interview - you and the 2 interviewers. They ask questions about yourself as they go through your file.
"Kenapa baru sekarang anda berminat menjadi guru?"
"Kenapa anda sanggup tinggalkan kerjaya di perbankan untuk menjadi guru?"
"Siapakah seniman/seniwati yang paling anda kagumi dan kenapa?"
"Siapakah komposer klasik yang anda minati?"
"Apakah nama hasil kerja komposer tersebut?"
"Bagaimana anda dapat memberi sumbangan terhadap pendidikan di negara kita?"
"Sanggupkah anda ditempatkan di sekolah pedalaman?"

Not done yet.

5. Practical Interview - you'll be asked to sing, play your instrument and answer several music theoretical questions.

*Sigh*

Finally, you're interview is done.
My interview that day was from 7am until 3pm. So, make sure you ate your 'light' breakfast in the morning.

I hope it helps, however, the process might be changed so do find out yourselves by contacting the person in charge.

Hino koh noh

Today’s my last day at work…
Days like this always feel weird and sad.
Weird because you’re leaving something you’ve come to know so well to venture off into a somehow unknown future, sad because you’re leaving behind a load of memories and mainly because you know you’ll be missing the people, you actually spent most of your day with for over 2.5 years, so much.

I guess it’s always the people you get to know, how they touch your life, the different relationships you build with them, the good times, and even the not so good ones, that gets to you.

Why did I take this step? Well, I guess, I just felt the time was right to move on, all the omens were right, maybe the stars were in place too or whatever else you believe in.
It just falls into my basic strategy of trying to set clearer goals for myself in life and to take the steps I see necessary to reach them.
Moving on to something else in my career life was simply one of those steps.

I’d like to thank all the guys at work for the great ride. It was great getting to know you all and to get a chance to work with every single one of you. I hope that we’ll get to carry our personal relationships well on into the future.

I’d like to thank the organization for having me as part of the team. I’m proud of these years that I spent in it, the role I had and the work I did. I’m very happy to see the organization growing further and going on to higher grounds.
I wish you all the best of luck.

About me

Hey, this is my homepage, so I have to say something about myself. Sometimes it is hard to introduce yourself because you know yourself so well that you do not know where to start with. Let me give a try to see what kind of image you have about me through my self-description. I hope that my impression about myself and your impression about me are not so different. Here it goes.

I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to read, I like to write; I like to think, I like to dream; I like to talk, I like to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning, I like to see the moonlight at night; I like to feel the music flowing on my face, I like to smell the wind coming from the ocean. I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind, I like to do thought experiment when I cannot sleep in the middle of the night. I like flowers, rain, leaves and dirt. I like to sleep late, I like to get up late; I like to be alone, I like to be surrounded by people. I like country's peace, I like the beautiful mount Kinabalu in Sabah, I like the flat padi field in my father's hometown in Tenghilan, Sabah. I like delicious food and comfortable high-heels shoes; I like romantic and thriller books and horror and adventures movies. I like the land and the nature, I like people. And, I like to laugh.
